Life is not counted by how many years you lived but by how much you contributed during the years that you lived. There are many famous people who are like that. The one that shined so much during her short life in Hong Kong (and for Hong Kong) is Anita Mui.

Anita’s last concert in 2003

She represents the spirit of Hong Kong people. Extremely determined, persevered and driven. I don’t know who can bear watching without tearing when she performed her last song in her last concert which was a month before she died from cancer. She was so determined to recover from her illness and nothing can stop her being a SUPERSTAR. She did it gracefully (and most probably painfully). She even had a superstar-way to say goodbye.

She was always beautiful, energetic and humorous. It’s no surprise she was surrounded by friends and good spirits. Even though she has so many classics, our favourite is this:

Many people said there’s no more superstar in Hong Kong. We don’t agree. I’m sure there’s at least one on your mind. Perhaps it’s the next one that we are going to talk about!
